This course is approximately 50 hours.  Contact Jo at 801-388-2463 to schedule an appointment and sign up for the training.  The training is designed to be flexible to your schedule.  All the subjects are repeated throughout the year.  Take them when it fits your schedule.  You will receive a course requirement list and as you complete each component, it will be signed off.  Once you have completed your 50 hours of training and proven competence in teaching, you will receive your certificate.

Training Includes:

     Yoga Technique - 16 Hours
Poses: 12 Hours
Breathing: 2 Hours
Mantra: 2 Hours
Meditation: 2 hours
Note:  Must take 4 hours of breathing, mantra and/or meditation

     Yoga Teaching Methodology - 10 hours
Adjustment / Correcting: 3 Hours
Basics of demonstration: 1 hour
Basics of Instruction: 1 Hour
Business of Yoga: 1 Hour
How a student learns: 1 Hour
Observing a class: 2 Hour
Qualities of a Teacher: 1 Hour

     Anatomy and Physiology - 6 Hours
Basic terminology: 2 Hours
Application to yoga: 2 Hours
Introduction to Ayurveda: 2 Hours

     Philosophy, History, Ethics and Lifestyle - 6 hours
Introduction to Philosophy: 2 Hours
Introduction to History: 2 Hours
Yoga Teaching Ethics:  2 Hours

    Practicum / Internship - 10 Hours
If you need to learn something, it is best to teach it.  You will need to demonstrate you can guide a class before receiving your certification.

    Off Site Learning - 2 Hours
Taking classes elsewhere - no classes you have already taken do not count

All hours completed count towards the 200 Hour Training.
